It is getting better. He was a perfect baby yesterday. Saturday night I went into the bedroom after his feeding at 10pm and nursed him in bed in the dark until he fell asleep. I didn’t put him in his cosleeper until midnight and fell asleep while nursing him, so I have no idea when he fell asleep, but he didn’t stir or cry during that time. He got up once in the middle of the night to eat and I tried nursing him, but it wasn’t cutting it for him, so I had to get up and get formula ready. Afterward, he fell right asleep.
Through out the day, he’d be up for maybe 45-120 minutes at a time, then would take a 1-4 hour nap. He fell asleep last night on the boppy while I was nursing him around 9pm and was due to be fed again around 10-11, so I just napped with him in the recliner with him on the boppy. I woke up at 12:30 and he was still sleeping soundly, so I got up to change his diaper and by then he seemed hungry, so I fed him again. We repeated the process of going back into the dark bedroom to nurse back to sleep last night and it seemed to work well.
He hasn’t been fussy since Saturday morning. We got him infant anti-gas medication and the formula we’re using is 1/4 lactose, so one or both seem to be helping.
In breastfeeding news, I nurse him pretty much ALL the time. My supply doesn’t really seem to have increased very much, but it’s been at least a little bit since I started the Reglan. On Saturday I was able to hand express maybe 1/4 ounce in 15 minutes or so. I decided to go ahead and buy a AVENT Isis hand pump to see what I can get that way. It’s much cheaper than an electric pump. I think it’d be a pipe dream to be able to pump enough to sustain him or increase my supply enough to sustain him, but any breast milk I can mix in with the formula is better than none.
The cloth diapers I ordered came in the mail today (actually yesterday, but I didn’t get the mail yesterday):

The instructions said not to use Free and Clear detergent or else they might leak and I have Publix brand Free and Clear… Some of my pocket dipes have leaked before, but it’s not consistent. I’ll go ahead and try using it and if it leaks, I guess I’ll try switching to Tide, which is what they recommend.
Elias has been extremely fussy today. He took a HUGE and gross poop earlier, so I hope that helps him out a bit. He’s finally taking a nap. He’s been awake since 10:30am, which is very unusual for him! I’m not going to let him sleep past 7pm. Hopefully he’ll sleep well tonight. He didn’t go last night for more than 2 hours at a stretch, which is also unusual for him. He’s still getting used to his co-sleeper and flails his arms about frequently, not seeming to get any good rest. (Yes, we’ve tried swaddling him and no matter how tight, he has his arms out in minutes) You’d think he’d pass out sometime soon.
I haven’t been able to wear my sling at all today. It’s like it suddenly went from ‘a little too big’ to DROWNING huge. Seems odd, but I really hope the medium fits better.
Here’s today’s 365 Kids photo:

Whenever I can hold him with one arm without fear that he’ll squirm right out of it, I might try taking a picture of both of us together. Until then, you’ll probably see a lot of my ottoman.
Everything except my pocket diapers came today! It’s like Christmas!
The cosleeper looks pretty cool. I don’t know how long it will be good for, but I can always try to sell it once he outgrows it:

Here are some other pics of Elias taken today. I’m going to do my best to get a shot of him every day (both so I can do the 365 children version and so I have a record of his growth). I’ve been pretty bad about taking pics on anything other than my camera phone thus far.

Here are some pics of me and Elias with the sling. It took me about 15 minutes to figure it out. I thought I was going crazy for a little while. I hope I have him in it correctly!

Mark picked up this swing today from Babies R Us along with a changing table my mom bought for us.
So far Elias really seems to be calmed by the swing. When he’s awake, he cries almost constantly, which is heartbreaking. I think he might have colic just because of how much he cries during the day. I’m hoping that a combination of the swing and the sling (which should be arriving sometime this week) will really help things out.
I also bought this cosleeper which should be arriving sometime this week. We’re cosleeping currently because he refuses to sleep if he’s not next to me. Our bed is rather soft and I don’t feel comfortable having him between us because of Mark’s sleep apnea and size, so I hope this will address both of those issues and allow Elias to cosleep comfortably between us for a couple months.
When I was looking in our ottoman in the living room, I found three small pocket diapers I bought that I forgot about! Score! I also bought four Happy Heineys pocket diapers on Friday, so that’ll bring us up to 11 total pocket dipes!
