Sleep and Exersaucer Fun

Posted by: Lynda In: 05 months| Nights| Photos

Elias completely conked out last night. He woke up around 7:30 wanting to be fed and changed, then slept until about midnight when I decided to go to sleep. I think I had to go back there once to sooth him back to sleep. He didn’t wake up again until nearly 6:30! I feel blessed to have a boy who loves his sleep. I try to avoid writing too much about it because I fear I’ll jinx myself. He’s never given me a problem sleeping overnight in his whole life though and I can only hope that doesn’t suddenly change.

Exersaucer 1I put Elias in the exersaucer this morning and put a rolled up blanket in front of him to keep him upright. We’re going to need to figure out what the height setting should be at. At the lowest setting, Elias can completely reach his feet to the base and turn himself, however crudely. At the next to lowest setting, his legs are just dangling above the base, though if he fully extends them, I think he can barely reach. Neither situation seems to describe what the instructions suggest, which are letting his toes touch the base. I can’t find anything online about proper infant placement in an exersaucer either. Sometimes being a parent is frustrating!

Exersaucer 5Elias still isn’t to the point of laughing at things or situations, so I can’t say he was particularly amused by the exersaucer. He did seem very intrigued. He liked the spinning turtle the best along with the turtle that’s attached to the activity book. I am sure his interest in these toys had more to do with the ease in which he was able to operate them and direct them to his mouth.

He chatted away during his time in the toy and did this thing I’ve never seen before where he looked all around while silently opening and closing his mouth.

I think we’re going to have a lot of fun with this!
